Winter Practice Day

Yesterday was our end-of-year practice day — an opportunity for the whole team to come together before Christmas. Aside from enjoying a wonderful meal as a practice, the purpose of the day was to provide a checkpoint to reflect on another successful year at Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt.
We used the morning to hold three workshops, hosted by our directors. The focus was more on our internal development as a business, rather than our architectural work, starting with a look at the High Performance Podcast.
What is high performance at Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt?
We engaged in a group discussion around this question, identifying where we see our priorities lying as a practice. While these questions often throw up helpful suggestions for self-improvement, it can be easy to pass over opportunities to congratulate ourselves on what we do well. But as 2024 draws to a close, we found this a particularly beneficial group activity.
What do we want our practice to be?
We then broke our ideas down, discussing what we want from our practice and our team members. What are we committed to, and how does that look?
Even in the home straight of 2024 our team came with energy and ideas that will definitely be taken forward into the new year. One thing we did discover was that post-it notes simply aren’t sticky enough. Live and learn!
