Wickham Street

Co-living scheme receives planning approval

5 August 2022

Great news for our Wickham Street scheme – the 76 home co-living development in Portsmouth was unanimously approved by councillors at planning committee. This is the first co-living scheme of this scale in Portsmouth, demonstrating that the city continues to embrace innovative design typologies to address their housing needs.

The new development will provide shared residential accommodation together with generous communal areas for residents, including a dining area, gym, games room and sky lounge.

The site is located a few minutes’ walk away from The Hard, a key regeneration area within the City. The proposed development will further contribute to the vitality of Portsmouth, widening sustainable housing choices, in particular for young professionals.

Inspiration has been drawn from Portsmouth’s history and heritage. The contemporary design responds appropriately to the local context in both appearance and materiality.
