Studio Trip
Copenhagen 2017
18 September 2017
This year’s studio trip took us to Copenhagen, the city that epitomises ‘Scandi cool’.
We arrived at Urban House on Thursday evening, a trendy hostel just a few steps from Central Station – the perfect lodging for a team of 40! Our first night was spent exploring the city’s Meatpacking district and sampling the Danish cuisine.
On Friday, we set off early to check out some world-class architecture. We cycled to the waterfront to admire The Black Diamond and then on to Norhavn, an area that’s being transformed from an industrial port into a modern residential and business quarter.
We regrouped for lunch at Copenhagen Street Food, a popular market packed with colourful food trucks serving delicious, sustainable cuisine. Next on the agenda was a walking tour of Denmark’s most famous architect’s work, Bjarke Ingels, who is behind many of Ørestad’s most iconic new buildings including VM Mountain and 8 House.
After a jam-packed day exploring the city it was time to enjoy a beer or two and experience Copenhagen’s nightlife.
