PROJECTS / Workplace
The refurbishment of this former office creates a new architecture studio, split over two floors, providing a large workplace area with breakout spaces, a conference room featuring a media wall, meeting spaces and a model making area.
The colour palette and design are deliberately minimal. White walls and ceiling baffles, and a polished concrete floor contrast with colourful accents across the studio – orange media wall, green ‘grass’ carpet, new colourful bathrooms – injecting a sense of fun and creativity into the design.
The existing old fashioned balustrade was overclad with plasterboard and localised cut-outs filled with frameless glass. These cut-outs allow daylight to cascade further down the stairwell while the clean cut shape of the balustrades create a sculptural look.
A special mezzanine breakout area, featuring a green ‘grass’ carpet and a table football game, has been designed as a fun space for staff to use during downtime.
