David Ayre

David acts as Managing Director for the practice, taking an overview across all facets of the business including finance, people and resourcing.

David has a broad range of experience across multiple sectors, although his primary focus has been on large-scale residential and mixed-use schemes, alongside master planning and urban design projects. He is currently leading on the conversion of the Grade II* listed Cemex House into an exclusive retirement living village and on a development of 134 affordable homes in Hayes, West London.

David has taught, lectured and judged throughout his career. His expertise has included being a regular panel member for RIBA ‘Guerrilla Tactics’ which provides business advice for young practices. He is a Local Authority ‘facilitator’, a past Vice-Chairman of the North-East Hampshire Design Review Panel, acting board Trustee for North Hampshire Education Alliance (NHEA), an Enterprise Careers Advisor for a local secondary school, and a regular judge for the Civic Trust Awards.

In his spare time, he can be found in his local CrossFit gym, watching Exeter Chiefs rugby team or working on a spreadsheet.
