One Vinyl Square
Advanced BIM workflow in action
7 October 2022
It’s great to see construction progress on One Vinyl Square in Hayes. Working with ARJ and JRP (Employer’s Agent), the project for Network Homes will provide 134 affordable homes and 395m² GIA of flexible commercial space.
Central to the project’s delivery is the design team’s advanced BIM workflow, as shown in this work-in-progress imagery. Using Revit and various add-in tools including the scripting of data, design team members are associating Uniclass 2015 and CoBie data added as meta data within discipline models.
Clash detection takes place from a federated model using Navisworks, with items tracked on BIMTrack to assist coordination. The Golden Thread of Information is maintained through ARJ’s Connect system and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Collaborative use of the models has enabled much earlier coordination to be undertaken with the wider supply chain, reducing impacts and risk during Stage 5.
The project is due for completion in August 2024, where Network Homes will be able to use the asset data for FM purposes via COBie.
