Milbourne Lodge School
Planning permission granted
3 October 2020
We are pleased to announce that we have received planning permission for a multipurpose 225m2 hall building at Milbourne Lodge School in Surrey. This forms part of a phased new build and refurbishment project we are working on at the school.
The existing hall and kitchens are accommodated in a converted Victorian manor. The layout of the main building and inherent space limitation is a challenge.
Our design creates a purpose-built facility sited in the beautifully landscaped gardens of the school. The new building is designed to accommodate a wide range of uses, including assemblies and dining, indoor PE, as well as events such as music recitals and drama performances. It is intended as a hub for the whole school community, positioned at the centre of the school and orientated to create a strong visual and physical connection with the gardens.
The new build frees up key spaces in the existing building to optimise the layout and provide improved teaching, administrative, and specialist support spaces such as peripatetic rooms for 1:1 music practice.
