Lisbon Study Trip
A tour of buildings ancient and new
2 December 2022
Our office study trips have always been a highlight in the Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt social calendar. In the past we’ve been to Berlin, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Rotterdam and Madrid, but then the pandemic struck and we had to hit pause. So it was really special to be able to re-instate the tradition this year with a trip to Lisbon last week.
It’s always nice to be able to spend time together outside of the usual office setting, and with so many new team members it was a brilliant opportunity for everyone to get to know each other.
Lisbon is such a great city, a fascinating patchwork of building ancient and new. The trip was planned meticulously so we could get around all the city had to offer, and several of the team had been tasked with researching and delivering a talk on a some of the city’s architectural highlights. The jam-packed schedule took in the Lisbon cruise port, Arco Da Run Augusta, Santa Justa lift, Teatro Eden, R.Nova de Carvalho, EDP HQ, the Time Out Market, Pavilion of Knowledge, Edificio do Mar, Oceanario De Lisboa and Edificio Mythos.
Great food, wine and scooter rides topped off a really fun 48hrs, and for extra feel good, we paid, as we always do, to offset the carbon impact of the trip by at least x2. Here’s looking forward to next year’s destination.
