Green Light for 120 New Homes
9 October 2017
Our proposals for 120 new homes to the edge of Chalgrove have been approved by South Oxfordshire District Council. The mixed tenure development will provide predominantly detached and semi-detached 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes.
Houses are accessed from short semi-private cul-de-sac lanes which are served by a primary loop road. Separate pedestrian and cycle routes run from north to south linking the existing village to the new community via the lanes and the green spaces. A new Scout Hut will provide a landmark community facility for both the new and the wider community to enjoy.
The village and the site itself have significant flooding issues which are dealt with using several dry ponds and swales distributed down the sloping site to store water before slowly releasing it into the river at the bottom. These SuDS solutions provide green spaces within the site, reinforced by tree banks which divide the housing up into smaller communities.
