The project redevelops an underused car park to create a high-quality mixed-tenure scheme made up of 90 1- and 2-bed apartments.
The massing of the block is broken into two distinct sections; six storeys at one side rising to eight at the other. The upper two floors of the building are strongly articulated and their form helps to reduce the perceived extent of the massing.
Horizontal concrete bands bind the lower floors of the building and the apartments, set within these bands, are expressed as brick boxes. The interplay of bands and boxes creates an open and attractive façade.
A robust palette of materials, including brick and concrete, grounds the scheme in the local modernist vernacular while well-thought-out landscaping enhances the streetscape. All residents have access to private amenity space in the form of balconies, terraces or shared spaces across the site, including a roof terrace.
